GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision is taught the techniques of the maintenance and repair of power lines; performs related duties as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Receives training and assists in stringing cables, and erecting poles.
2.Receives instruction in the use of tools, equipment, safety devices and precautions.
3.Receives training and assists in the installation and maintenance of underground lines.
4.Receives instructions and assists in installation of electric meters and service wires.
5.Receives instructions and assists in splicing, soldering and pulling cable.
6.Takes tests to demonstrate degree of proficiency acquired.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
2.Good physical condition, not subject to acrophobia or claustrophobia.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
Graduation from elementary school.
