GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a wide variety of manual tasks in the maintenance of buildings and grounds; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the duties are routine and require the exercise of limited judgment and skill in performing maintenance and security functions and the work is subject to inspection by supervisors.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1.Performs general maintenance and repair of semi-skilled nature not requiring the services of a tradesman or artisan, such as: general painting, simple carpentry, minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment.
2.Maintains and cares for grounds; performs landscaping work such as: trimming shrubs and trees, cutting grass, seeding, cultivating and fertilizing ground;may operate power equipment; may assist in work around a greenhouse.
3.Performs housekeeping chores including cleaning, mopping and waxing;removes snow and ice from grounds and area surrounding buildings.
4.Assures proper use of premises by authorized organizations or personnel;inspects premises after normal use hours; may be required to live on premises.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.Working knowledge of buildings and grounds general maintenance and repair work.
2.Working knowledge of routine landscaping procedures.
3.Ability to use tools and equipment for general maintenance and repair work.
4.Ability to perform manual tasks in a variety of grounds cleaning and maintenance duties.
5.Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience
1.Graduation from elementary school and one year of experience in maintenance of buildings and grounds;
or,
2.Satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience.
