1. | Assists in coordinating, directing, and supervising the technical activities and functions of the Nassau County Civil Service Commission. |
2. | Reviews work of technical personnel to ensure conformance with established policy and procedure, technical quality, and accuracy. |
3. | Reviews legislation and litigation, and coordinates cases for the Secretary and Chief Examiner. |
4. | Assists in directing the investigation of personnel complaints and grievances. |
5. | Advises county departments on personnel operating problems. |
6. | Assists in maintaining liaison with administrators of state departments in coordinating the Commission's services with the needs of departments. |
7. | Participates in local, county, and state conferences and meetings. |
8. | Prepares special reports and correspondence. |
1. | Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public personnel administration. |
2. | Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and office management. |
3. | Considerable knowledge of State Civil Service Law and Nassau County Government Law. |
4. | Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with legislators, administrators, employees, and the general public. |
5. | Ability to assign and coordinate the work performed by clerical and technical employees. |
